The Owner Says

Huttopia Rillé - in the heart of the Val de Loire is a beautiful site, set amongst mature trees and on the banks of a lake.

With these wooden Gypsy Caravans or Roulottes set amongst pine, chestnut and lime trees surrounding the Lake Rillé, this site is a great spot for a romantic getaway amongst a natural environment to holiday in. Enjoy al fresco dining at any time of day with your private terrace and picnic table.

The modern shower block facilities are a short stroll away, including family areas and baby changing rooms.

Water babies will be in their element with the option to swim or hire canoes and pedaloes on the lake or enjoy a dip in the outdoor heated swimming pool. The pool is overlooked by a large terrace with parasols and sun loungers - making it a good spot to unwind after a days sight seeing.

On site there is a central Lodge with tourist information centre, a small grocery store, and a cafe-bar area open daily in peak season and weekends in all other seasons. You can enjoy a home made wood-fired pizza to take away or to enjoy with a glass of local wine on the terrace overlooking the pool and lake.

A daily bread service is available from the central lodge simply place your bread order the night before, and it will be delivered to the site by the local baker the following morning - the perfect way to start your day with some delicious freshly baked bread and pastries!

Children will enjoy the on site play ground as well as the Volleyball, pétanque and table tennis areas. There are also family friendly activities to be enjoyed during July and August with organised treasure hunts, fishing trips and adventures in nearby vineyards not to mention Medieval workshops where you get to learn all about cross-bows and swords! The kids club on site is also great fun for children (July & August) where they will have a host of activities and games to choose from, as well as making new holiday friends.

The evenings are also family friendly at Rillé with concerts by the lake, story telling evenings or night tours of the nearby Château de Gizeux hosted by the Lords of the Castle themselves!

Being in the heart of the Loire, a fine wine making area of France from Bourgeuil, Chinon and Touraine, it's worth hiring some bikes and going on an exploration adventure! Bikes are available to hire from reception and the team will provide you with maps to guide you on your way.

The Châteaux de la Loire are also worth a visit, in particular the fairytale-esque Azay le Rideau and Villandry with its majestic gardens and Chenonceau with its impressive "bridge-like" structure built across the Loire.

Lake Rillé is an exceptional bird sanctuary (in which 250 species have been observed) and the Bird Protection League (LPO) runs ornithological outings around the lake in July and August.

To enjoy the lake other than on a boat, why not try the steam train which takes you on a trip around the lake and the surrounding areas - a nostalgic way to enjoy the surroundings and beautiful scenery!

Families and groups are spoilt for choice in this beautiful part of France set within this leafy and tranquil campsite.
