Being in the heart of the Loire, a fine wine making area of France from Bourgeuil, Chinon and Touraine, it's worth hiring some bikes and going on an exploration adventure! Bikes are available to hire from reception and the team will provide you with maps to guide you on your way.
The Châteaux de la Loire are also worth a visit, in particular the fairytale-esque Azay le Rideau and Villandry with its majestic gardens and Chenonceau with its impressive "bridge-like" structure built across the Loire.
Lake Rillé is an exceptional bird sanctuary (in which 250 species have been observed) and the Bird Protection League (LPO) runs ornithological outings around the lake in July and August.
To enjoy the lake other than on a boat, why not try the steam train which takes you on a trip around the lake and the surrounding areas - a nostalgic way to enjoy the surroundings and beautiful scenery!
