The Owner Says

This tent will awaken the adventurer in you, while offering all the comforts you need. Like a Canadian Trapper, you can sleep under a canvas roof, while enjoying the pleasure of a good bed, private bathroom and even a wood-burning stove.
The Trappeur Tent features a main room with kitchen area (gas stove with two burners, fridge, storage, sink and crockery all provided) and a dining area with table and chairs and a wood-burning stove. There are two sleeping areas: a parents' area with a double bed (140×200) and a children’s area with three single beds (60×200). The tent also has its own bathroom with shower, washbasin and toilet. Outside there is a wooden terrace with a barbecue, parasol and two fold-out chairs.
Please note: all our Canadian Trappeur accommodation is equipped and furnished in a similar fashion, but your actual accommodation, location and outlook may differ from that shown in the images.
The site  has plenty of facilities and a whole host of nature activities which are included in our packages for active holidays for children and parents alike. Facilities include two outdoor swimming pools with one heated (from April 6th to September 30th) and a forest spa which features saunas in little wooden huts, a refreshing jacuzzi, and sun beds where you can recline in the shade of the trees. Relax and unwind… (area reserved for adults).

Features & Facilities

Excellent shower and toilet blocks, cleaned 3 times a day, including spacious family bathrooms, baby changing and disabled facilities. There are two swimming pools and a paddling pool with a terraced poolside area, café-restaurant (open daily July / August and weekends out of peak season), a reception area with plenty of tourist information and a 'grocery corner' selling essentials. There is outdoor table tennis and boules, plus an indoor lounge area with a central wood-burning stove, board and card games, books to borrow and a television. There is no Wi-Fi on site but a computer with internet is available.

Activities

The campsite is 5km from the Pont d'Arc, a natural bridge, located at the entrance to the Ardèche Gorges and now an unmissable symbol of the Ardèche region. You'll see it on all the postcards. From just outside the campsite you can descend the Ardèche Gorges by canoe or kayak. Several routes exist, but all the locals recommend the 24km one. You can grab all the information from reception or pop into the Vallon Pont d'Arc Tourist Office (0033 4 7588 0401). By Vallon Pont d'Arc there is also a magnificent cave (0033 4 7594 3940) – a prehistoric site discovered in 1994 with ancient wall engravings.

Food & Drink

The café-restaurant opens for breakfast or you can order fresh bread and pastries the evening before, collect it in the morning and eat it back at the tent. Meals generally start at around €10 and there are freshly made pizzas along with grilled meats. The outside terrace has fantastic views. BBQs are available for anyone to use in the communal areas dotted around the site.
