The Owner Says
The Cahutte is fully-equipped, with a beautiful terrace and can sleep up to five people. On the ground floor you can enjoy the comfort of a wood cabin and at night you can sleep under a tent on the top floor. You will adore the adventurous, outdoor feel of this unusual accommodation.
Within the ground floor, wooden cabin, is a living room with kitchen area (stove, fridge, crockery, sink), wood stove, and bathroom (shower and toilet). Upstairs, under a canvas roof, are two sleeping areas with one double mattress (140×200) and three single mattresses (60×200). Outside there is a terrace with a wooden picnic table, a parasol, two fold-out chairs and a Primagrill barbecue.
Please note: all our Cahutte accommodation is equipped and furnished in a similar fashion, but your actual accommodation, location and outlook may differ from that shown in the images.
The site has plenty of facilities and a whole host of nature activities which are included in our packages for active holidays for children and parents alike.
Facilities include two outdoor swimming pools (one heated from 13/04 to 14/10) as well as a forest spa. Imagine saunas in little wooden huts on the banks of the lake, a refreshing jacuzzi, and sun beds where you can recline in the shade of the trees. Relax and unwind… (from April 30th – area reserved for adults).
Features & FacilitiesExcellent shower and toilet blocks, cleaned 3 times a day, including spacious family bathrooms, baby changing and disabled facilities. There are two small heated swimming pools with a terraced poolside area, café-restaurant (open daily July / August and weekends out of peak season) and a reception area that sells a few essentials and offers plenty of tourist information. There is a large swimming lake with a wooden pontoon along one side, outdoor table tennis, boules and volleyball, plus an indoor lounge area with board and card games, table football, books to borrow and a television. There is no Wi-Fi on site but a computer with internet is available.
ActivitiesIn the foothills of the maritime Alps, Huttopia Dieulefit offers excellent walking, cycling and mountain biking with bikes available to hire from the campsite. Set out on one of the 8 marked circuits leaving from the campsite – all the information you need on these trails is available at reception. The local village of Dieulefit is renowned historically for its pottery and ceramics and even today there are over 40 different ceramic workshops in the village. It's a good place for picking up a bargain if you know where to look, so make sure you explore several places before you buy anything! For further history it's a 35 minute drive to Château de Grignan (0033 4 7591 8350), a chunky Renaissance castle on a rocky promontory, and the same to Montélimar, where Château des Adhémar (0033 4 7500 6230) is considered one of the last examples of Romanesque castle architecture in France.
Food & DrinkThe café-restaurant opens for breakfast or you can order fresh bread and pastries the evening before, collect it in the morning and eat it back at the tent. Meals generally start at around €10 and there are freshly produced pizzas cooked in a wood oven. BBQs are available for anyone to use in the communal areas dotted around the site.
