Our handmade shepherd hut is ideal for an unforgettable break in the countryside for couples and small families alike.  There is ample room for two adults in a kingsize bed and a small bunk above for a child.   We supply all bedding, you only need to bring towels.
We are happy for larger families to squeeze in to the shepherd hut, you are welcome to bring an airbed to sleep an extra child, there is not extra charge for extra people.  The shepherd hut garden has plenty of room for a tent for older children, or perhaps a family camping and granny and granddad sleeping in the shepherd hut.   Camping is charged at our camping rate and is bookable separately or you are welcome to contact us directly.
The kitchen area comes with a range of appliances: a small sink with running water, single gas hob, pretty china crockery, kitchen and cooking utensils.
You can stay warm and toasty in front the wood burning stove.
The views from the stable door and garden toward Wistlandpound Reservoir are truly breathtaking.
Outside the hut boasts its own fenced garden, private fire pit, seating and gated access to the stream and just added for 2019 is a lovely wood fired hot tub with L.E.D lighting.
Dogs are welcome.  We are a working farm with livestock in all the surrounding fields, we like to be sure that you understand that dogs need to be kept on a lead or under close control at all times.  Please select on the extras list if you're bringing a dog with you.
We have a lovely toilet block a short walk from the shepherd hut.  It has roomy showers and toilets, is kept beautifully clean and toasty warm, with central heating which runs all year.  Also in the toilet block in an information desk, fridge freezer, honesty shop during school holidays and busy times and games to borrow and swap.

About Westland Farm

How often do you get to stay in a hand-built home? At Westland Farm you can enjoy camping or glamping whilst feeling like you’re part of a working farm.
Set amidst the lush, rolling countryside of North Devon, on the edge of Exmoor National Park and close to some truly spectacular beaches, ancient market towns and country pubs, Westland Farm is a little piece of heaven we wish to share with you. We are a small friendly site, and wish to keep it that way.  We allow plenty of space for camping, no crowded fields even at the busiest times and some beautiful views of the countryside.  We welcome families who we love to show our animals to, explain how they are kept and welcome help with feeding time.  During the lambing season, which we plan around the Easter Holidays, guests are welcome in the lambing shed to watch and even help if they wish, there are often tame lambs to bottle feed and the more hands on types have even helped to bring new lambs into the world.  We are responsible for several young people who now have an ambition to become farmers, after helping in the lambing shed during their holiday here.

Glamping Site Facilities

Campfires allowed (Make your own fire pit), clean washrooms with 2 toilets and 2 showers all with central heating, fridge-freezer, mobile-charging point and fresh eggs available from the farm’s hens.
