The Owner Says

Our handmade shepherd hut is ideal for an unforgettable break in the countryside for couples and small families alike.  There is ample room for two adults in a kingsize bed and a small bunk above for a child.   We supply all bedding, you only need to bring towels.
We are happy for larger families to squeeze in to the shepherd hut, you are welcome to bring an airbed to sleep an extra child, there is not extra charge for extra people.  The shepherd hut garden has plenty of room for a tent for older children, or perhaps a family camping and granny and granddad sleeping in the shepherd hut.   Camping is charged at our camping rate and is bookable separately or you are welcome to contact us directly.
The kitchen area comes with a range of appliances: a small sink with running water, single gas hob, pretty china crockery, kitchen and cooking utensils.
You can stay warm and toasty in front the wood burning stove.
The views from the stable door and garden toward Wistlandpound Reservoir are truly breathtaking. We now have direct access to the reservoir and Exmoor national park via footpaths from the farm.
Outside the hut boasts its own fenced garden, private fire pit, seating and gated access to the stream and just added for 2019 is a lovely wood fired hot tub with L.E.D lighting.
Dogs are welcome.  We are a working farm with livestock in all the surrounding fields, we like to be sure that you understand that dogs need to be kept on a lead or under close control at all times.  Please select on the extras list if you're bringing a dog with you.
We have a lovely toilet block a short walk from the shepherd hut.  It has roomy showers and toilets, is kept beautifully clean and toasty warm, with central heating which runs all year.  Also in the toilet block in an information desk, fridge freezer, honesty shop during school holidays and busy times and games to borrow and swap. We also have a drying wall to hang any soggy clothes or towels after a busy day out.
Logs are available at £6 for a large net, payable on site.

Great little shepherd's hut in a beautiful land

We had a great time in there despite the weather, super comfy, warm and great toilet facilities. Would definitely recommend the stay and we plan on returning.

A fantastic addition to an already brilliant campsite

Having stayed as a camper many times, we were excited to experience the Yurt for the first time - and we were NOT disappointed! It's a really lovely place to stay - we had two kids with us, but it would be even nicer as a romantic get-away. The new log-fired hot tub is amazing, the kitchen and toilet are a real luxury and the location is faultless. Highly recommended!!

Thank you very much for your lovely review

Lovely setting

We stayed in the yurt and thoroughly recommend it. Comfortable beds and gorgeously cosy with the log burner going. Really lovely with the animals close by.

Thank you for your lovely review.  We now have a hut tub with the yurt too!

Beautiful laid back glamping

Nicky was really accommodating for our visit. We hired the yurt and the huts and others joined us in tents, campers and caravans and it was perfect for the occasion. Family friendly fun in beautiful surroundings. All accommodations more than up to scratch and lovely new shower block. Plenty of space for bbqs, fires etc. Plenty of opportunity to feed animals/ collect eggs if you speak to owners although we didn’t make the most of it as ran out of time!

Thank you for your lovely review.  You and your friends were all perfect guests.  I'm glad you enjoyed your birthday weekend

An amazing Easter Mini Break!!!!

We've just recently stayed in the Drover's Hut, and it was perfect!! You really are part of the farm. Nicky, Andy and Will, were lovely and couldn't do enough for us. The views are breathtaking and we literally shared a field with the sheep and their beautiful lambs. The Drover's Hut has a brand new bathroom, which is amazing and the main shower and toilet block is clean and lovely and hot!! There's plenty of beautiful places to visit locally, but we loved hanging out at the hut with the woodburner roaring and taking a dip in the hot tub. We wish we had longer, but will definitely be returning!!!

Getting There

Head down the A39 in North Devon, setting the sat nav for EX31 4SH. Keep the speed down, because it’s easy to miss the farm’s  sign when you’re close.
