Set on a hard base with a decked entrance, there is an individual fire pit and seating area outside your bell tent. Your own private composting loo is nestled into the trees behind your tent.
There is a wooden shower hut with a hot gas powered shower that you share with 1 other tent. A covered communal cooking area and washing facilities are also nestled into the trees nearby.
This 6m bell tent is fully furnished with carpet, a double bed, 2 single futon chairs/beds, full bedding, log burning stove, lanterns, blanket boxes, cooking box & a giant bean bags. The futons will be converted into beds when children are booked to stay.
Sleeps 2 adults and up to 3 children. (A single bed will be provided for a 3rd child. Toddlers in a cot stay for free - please request a cot on booking).
*** If you have more kids, please message us and we may be able to arrange a bespoke package for you, which may mean that an additional part furnished tent is erected on the same pitch.
Features & FacilitiesThis is off-grid glamping, we do not have mains electricity, gas or water. All 4 bell tents are fully furnished with a proper double bed and 2 single futon chair beds with all the bedding (extra single beds can be put up),bedside tables, blanket box, log burner (in 2 of the tents), solid flooring, bean bag, log basket filled with logs and a cooking box. Outside there is a decking area, your own fire pit with a cooking tripod, seating and a table and all the essential BBQ utensils. Each tent has its own luxury compost toilet and shares a hot gas powered shower with one other tent. There is a sheltered communal kitchen/ washing up area nestled in the woods. Listen for the woodpeckers, play in the field or go exploring in the woods.
ActivitiesNearby Cedar Farm Galleries is home to an excellent coffee shop, art galleries and unique shops selling an array of contemporary crafts, clothing and home furnishings. It's less than a mile to the Leeds to Liverpool Canal, great for walking or cycling along the tow path or joining a boat cruise. Haigh Hall and Country Park (10 miles) has 250 acres of park and woodland you can explore, while children will love Windmill Animal Farm and Farmer Teds, both excellent family farm parks. The nearest good beaches – Southport and Formby are within a ½hr drive. As is Crosby beach, home to Anthony Gormley’s ‘Another Place’ – a hundred sculptures spread across the sand, made from casts of the artist's own body.
Food & DrinkThere is a cooking box inside each tent with all the cooking utensils, crockery and things you need for a successful BBQ, 3 different sized pots and pans, wine and water glasses, mugs for tea/coffee, a cafetiere and an ice box with ice packs. D.C Scott & Sons in Ormskirk is our local, family butchers par excellence, the campsite can arrange BBQ packs for breakfast, lunch or dinner to be delivered. You can also take home a freshly harvested veg box from the farm. For other local produce Taylors Farm Shop is located just a few hundred metres down the road. There is an array of great places to eat within a 5 minute drive, most notably The Hop Vine in Burscough (booking definitely recommended). Closer and right on the canal is The Ship and a firm favourite amongst the locals as is The Plough Inn, just 1 mile up the road.
