Set in it's own private space in our historic 'nut plat' Ransoms is perfect for a short break under the stars. Situated on the bank of the River Bourne, Ransoms enjoys views across the Kent countryside, peace and quiet and is a great place to hear the dawn chorus.

Just 45 minutes from London you can escape to your own private space with a vintage living van offering a full sized double bed - with feather and down duvet and plump pillows and cotton bed linen. There's also a  wood burning stove, and a table and chairs to sit in the warm - or escape from the sun for playing scrabble or reading a book.

Ransoms comes with its own camp kitchen, with all basic pots, pans, crockery, cutlery and teas, coffees, oils, sugar lumps, salt, pepper, and marshmallows! There's a two ring gas stove or a Webber BBQ or you can cook over the coals of your private fire pit.

The separate shower room has a gas powered shower, basin and plenty of room to get changed. Fresh towels and a shower mat are supplied.

The wooden, wood fired hot tub is a perfect relaxing way to star gaze, available to hire, just select on the extras list on booking flow.

Off grid living means you have your own compost loo here, but we've also spoilt you with battery powered lighting and a USB port to charge your mobile phones - but why not leave everything off and just use the tea lights provided.

Locally, the walks and cycle routes are a real draw. Circular walking routes take in some of our quintessential country pubs. The National Trust's Ightham Mote is a 40 minute walk away across the fields, or more locally, English Heritage look after Old Soar Manor a solar temple.

For those with a car, the Kent coast or Sussex coast are both an hour or so away - trendy up and coming Margate to the East, bucket and spade Camber Sands to the South and the oysters of Whitstable to the North.
