The Owner Says
Under the Milky Way is set in a beautiful rural area, nestled in about 5 acres of gently sloping and flat fields. It is a glorious sunny spot where the loudest sound is birdsong. At night there is no light pollution, so the stars really do shine. Our comfortable and secluded site is perfect for a family get together around a campfire or as an enchanting and romantic setting for a couple’s retreat.
The tent is lavishly equipped with one double futon style bed and two single beds, wood burning stove, rugs, candles, solar lights, picnic table, camping gas cooker, cool box and all the bits and pieces you will need kitchen-wise. There is no electricity, so though very comfy, you are camping complete with a campfire if you wish. There is a decked area outside for cooking and eating with a canvas awning. The tent is easily big enough for four people, you could squeeze one more little one if need be - it would just be even cosier.
Each tent has its own private bathroom/toilet with underfloor heating, so you can leave your toothbrush here for the duration of your stay. The bathrooms are only a short away from the tents up a gently sloping field. This is where you will also find the washing up area.
Features & Facilities
Tents are each furnished with a wood burner, beds, furniture, rugs, lanterns, a BBQ and gas camp-stove and an outside covered decking area for cooking and outdoor living. Each tent is suitable for 2–4 people (or 5 if your children are all young). The shepherd's hut sleeps up to 5 people in 1 double bed and bunk beds and has a wood burner, rugs, solar lanterns, a BBQ and gas camp-stove. Each glamping unit has its own private wet room/shower and toilet located a short walk from the pitch. This is also where you'll find communal washing up facilities along with an electricity supply to charge phones (there is no electricity by the tent, only candles and solar lights, plenty of which are provided). Plenty of outdoor space, safe from cars, for children to play around in.
Nearby Combe Martin village is modestly sized but charming and has a pleasant beach, while surfing beaches such as Woolacombe Sands, Saunton Beach and Croyde are not too much further by car.
