The newest addition to our collection, Glade Yurt is a wonderful hand crafted Yurt with beautiful tree panels enclosing the living area. When you arrive let the local birdsong guide you as you weave your way through the labyrinth of paths and stone circles to the entrance.
Inside it’s huge, but cosy and crafted in a modern, ornate yurt style. Wooden tree patterns are sculpted into the walls and the handmade furniture is covered in cosy sheepskins and colourful rugs from owner Jules’ travels. When the sun shines, you get lots of light from the huge crown skylight and you can warm up in front of the wood burning stove on chillier afternoons. There’s a private kitchen in the yurt with ample cooking facilities, and 10 metres up the path are the shared washrooms, complete with hot showers and flushing loos.
Since Jules arrived 21 years ago she’s planted over 1000 trees and created a series of smaller fields, a wildlife meadow, an orchard, a nut wood, a hidden sunken garden and an organic veggie patch. She manages the land for wildlife and it’s not unknown for the odd deer to saunter in from the woods across the lane! You can even book a fireside massage or choose a treatment to have in the comfort of your yurt when you're not swinging in the hammock or soaking in your private hot tub. When you’ve finished exploring the home turf, head out into the Forest of Dean to discover 8 miles of some of the UK’s finest woodlands which lead down to the river Wye.
Glamping Site Facilities
Yurts and tents are furnished with beds, bedside furnishings and lighting, wood-burning stoves, bedding, blankets and storage. Glade Yurt and Bedouin Tent both also have hot tubs. Facilities include a well-equipped kitchen, flushing toilet and electric shower. Another toilet and shower are in the pipeline for 2017. Visit in October to join in the nut picking. There's a whole range of treatments on offer from local folk. Get in touch with Jules in advance to arrange a treatment on site without you even having to leave the yurt: hot stone massage (£45), Thai massage (£60), and Personal Astrological Consultation (£60) among them.
