The Owner Says
Dundas Castle Glamping is a collaboration with estate owners, Sir Jack and Lady Lydia Stewart-Clark, and is undoubtedly the most prestigious and exclusive glamping location in Scotland. The glamping glade has a limited number of luxury five-star Canvas Cottages, ensuring your experience of the Dundas estate remains tranquil, peaceful and unspoilt.
And what a place this is. The Canvas Cottages are set beside the loch of the beautiful 400-acre Dundas Castle estate, tucked away within their own secluded wooded knoll, with peaceful surroundings and breath-taking views across the waters. What better way to awaken in the morning than to the sounds of the birds and rustling of the trees? As the dawn moves into morning, sit in bed, looking out directly over the Castle’s Loch and watch the ducks, swans and herons before enjoying breakfast on the private dining deck.
We have 10 canvas cottages available in total, including a dog friendly unit and a disabled access unit. Children can stay for free, too, so you can enjoy a relaxing holiday with the whole family.
Canvas Cottages offer the utmost luxury, while still providing the spirit of the great outdoors. In the Canvas Cottages, expect comfortable beds, Egyptian cotton linen and beautiful wooden furniture. Outside, there is a deck with a gas BBQ, while every Canvas Cottage also has its own en-suite bathroom – fully functional toilets, porcelain sinks, instant hot water shower, large mirrors and plenty of towels and biodegradable toiletries – all the products you would expect to find in a luxury boutique hotel.
The castle provides a magnificent backdrop for strolls within the grounds, although please note that the Castle itself is not available for visitors or tours. Beyond the grounds, of course, there is also plenty to do. Being only 15 minutes from Edinburgh International Airport and a short drive from Edinburgh City Centre (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Dundas Castle Glamping offers unbeatable Edinburgh access and is within reach of a plethora of things to do and places to see.
