The Owner Says
Our traditionally crafted cabins provide luxurious glamping for four, with a toasty log burner for warmth, fully equipped kitchen and large dining table.
Inside is a full kitchen with gas hob and sink along with everything you should need; cooking utensils, pots, pans, crockery, cutlery glassware and that very important cork screw. Each cabin has equipped with a cold locker which will keep items well chilled for a few days until you swap over the cold blocks. Just outside the the cabin is a firepit, grill and tripod, perfect for campfire cooking.
Each cabin has its own picnic table, two deckchairs and plenty of grass for laying on during a sunny summer afternoon. As evening settles what better spot to sit by a crackling log fire whilst gazing at the stars across the immense West Wales night sky.
Each cabin accommodates up to 2 adults and 2 children in one kingsize bed and a full sized single bunk beds (single household only for 2021 unless by prior arrangement),
At the bottom of the meadow are modern toilets and hot gas-powered showers, each hidden in a traditional-style hut built by a local craftsman.
Please note some of the images are for illustration only (as the cabins aren't kitted out yet) but they will be in a similar style to all of the other accommodation at Sloeberry Farm.
We supply all bed linen but please do bring your own duvets, pillows, bath and beach towels. If you are bringing your pet with you, please also bring any towels or blankets that may be required for them.
Will I be warm enough?
Our cabins are weatherproof and windproof but if you’re prone to feeling the cold pyjamas are good for bedtime and its worth packing a coat and a few jumpers just in case the British summer weather isn’t so summery, layering is key.
Can I bring my dog?
Dogs are always welcome by arrangement at Sloeberry Farm, all we ask is you keep them on the lead at all times (it’s a condition of our planning) and clean up all dog mess straight away so another guest doesn’t stand in it.
Are the showers hot and what about the loos?
A hot shower is crucial after a day out on the beach, all of our showers supply a limitless amount of hot water (no putting 50p in a meter which runs out just when you have got your shampoo in) and all of our toilets are modern flushing variety.
We think we have provided all of the crockery, pans, knives, spatula’s, can openers, chopping boards etc. you need but if there is an item you can’t live without its best to bring it from home. Each cabin is equipped with a cold locker which will keep items well chilled for a few days until you swap over the cold blocks.
In our opinion campfires are a key part of camping. Not only do they offer warmth, and an atmospheric backdrop to an evening but they also provide plenty of heat for cooking. (We have lots of campfire recipes on request) Each cabin has its own fire pit with access to a good supply of firewood which you can buy on site. Be it baking potatoes, toasting marshmallows or cooking a cowboy chilli, as the stars start to twinkle, the camp fire becomes the centrepiece of your evening. We source our camp firewood locally from sustainably managed woodlands, for insurance reasons only logs supplied at Sloeberry Farm can be used on site.
The firepit has a hanging grill but if you fancy a larger BBQ our Sloeberry Farm barrel BBQ's are available to hire. These are the only BBQ's we allow on site as they are designed to be safer in a glamping environment and are placed a set distance from each tent.

ActivitiesLonely Planet recently voted Cardigan Bay "the best place to be in the world right now" and it certainly fits the bill with it's mix of fantastic beaches and coastal villages, yet still retaining a relatively uncrowded feel, especially out of peak season. Cliff walks on the coastal path, sandy bays and National Trust-owned beaches are the highlights. By car, the town of Cardigan is not far away, formed around a Norman castle which is open to the public and boasts a great café and frequent outdoor events. Nearby Cilgerran Castle (01239 621339) still welcomes visitors – its two massive drum towers dominate the surroundings. North, picture perfect New Quay has a cobbled stone harbour – with plenty of cafés and fantastic chippies, it's a great place to enjoy the views and spot the Cardigan Bay dolphins.
Food & DrinkThe nearest pub, the Penllwyndu Inn (01239 682533), is an easy mile and a half walk away – don’t be put off by the hangman's noose sign! There are plenty of other places to eat and drink within within easy striking distance but the nearest are either in Cardigan (5 miles) or Aberporth (3 miles). The former has plenty of choice, plus a supermarket for supplies, while the latter is slightly smaller but has a great fish and chip shop (01239 811003) next door to The Ship Inn (01239 810822), both of which have excellent views of the beach.
Getting back to nature doesn't mean giving up every modern luxury – as Sloeberry Farm shows – but there are some that you'll certainly not need while you're here. Put down the iPads, switch off the Kindle, throw away their phones and let the kids loose.
