The Owner Says

Two gorgeous self contained yurts with kitchen and bathroom facilities.

Ty Crwn Bach Idris sleeps up 4 guests and Ty Crwn Mawr sleeps up to 7 guests. Please see the separate listings for full information or visit our website at greenerglamping.uk.

Ty Crwn Bach Idris is a very comfortable yurt with spectacular views which can easily accommodate four people. It has a double bed and a double sofa bed. It is beautifully furnished with lovely linens, wall hangings, rugs and fairy lights creating a warm and magical space. There is a wood burning stove in the yurt which heats up the space very quickly. The yurt is light and airy with a clear round glass opening window in the roof and a south facing stable door to help keep things cool on sunny days and hot summer nights. The floor and walls are insulated so it's toasty even in the coldest of winters. The covered deck outside the yurt provides somewhere sheltered to sit and enjoy the BBQ or the fire pit, although there are grassy areas to use if you would prefer. There is also a BBQ and a fire pit.

Ty Crwn Mawr is a very comfortable yurt with spectacular views which can easily accommodate six people. It has a king size bed and four single futon beds and a couple of chairs. It is beautifully furnished with lovely linens, wall hangings, rugs and fairy lights creating a warm and magical space. Right next to the yurt are an outside cooking area, compost toilet and outdoor shower cubicle. There is a secluded seating area and fire pit/BBQ to the south of the yurt. There is a wood burning stove in the yurt which heats up the space very quickly. All pots/pans, crockery and cutlery, mugs and glasses are provided. We simply ask that you wash them before you leave. The yurt is light and airy with a clear round window in the roof and a north facing door to help keep things cool on sunny days and hot summer nights. The floor and walls are insulated so it's toasty even in the coldest of winters.

The log cabin near the small yurt contains a full kitchen (including gas cooker, electric fridge, toaster, sink with hot and cold water), dining area and shower room with power shower, flushing toilet and sink. There is another smaller kitchenette and shower room with compost by the bigger yurt.

There are standard electrical sockets in the yurt and low energy lighting there and in the bathroom/kitchen which all run off renewable energy sources. So by staying in Ty Crwn Bach Idris you will be doing your bit to reduce pollution and carbon emissions.

WiFi internet is provided at no extra cost but due to our very rural location the internet can sometimes be a bit temperamental!

Towels and hand soap are provided. Washing up liquid, tea towels, dish cloths are provided.

Bed linen, pillows and duvets are supplied for all beds as required.

Pans, crockery, cutlery, mugs, glasses etc all provided but we do ask that you wash up and leave them clean as you found them on your arrival.

A well behaved and fully house trained puppy/dog(s) will be allowed by prior arrangement and agreement only. There will be an extra charge of £5/night/dog which will be taken care of by altering the reservation. There are further terms and conditions that you will need your agreement. DO NOT BOOK UNTIL YOU HAVE OBTAINED OUR EXPRESS AGREEMENT TO BRING YOUR DOG(S).

If you need assistance with anything just ask. We are here to help and glad to do so. :-)

Guest Access

The yurts isareset well apart from the main house and each other.

You will have your privacy but we are only too happy to chat, help, spend time, advise on places to go, things to do, where to walk etc. Apparently we are very approachable!

Feel free to play guitars, drums, or to sing your heart out if you are musically inclined. Enjoy the space but please be mindful of other guests and your hosts in terms of noise levels.

You are welcome to quietly enjoy the land, sit by the pond and generally make yourselves at home. If we are enjoying our private spaces in our garden please do be mindful of us in terms of noise levels and our privacy. Especially if you are bringing kids with you!! We are all for having some fun and if you ask us we’ll generally be happy for you to hang out with us but sometimes we like our own space too.

Features & Facilities

Each yurt has beds, bedding, comfy seating and a log-burning stove. They each have a covered porch area with outdoor seating, and a fire pit/BBQ for cooking on. A bucket of logs and kindling suitable for the stove/firepit will be provided and more can be purchased or collected. Each yurt has its own separate cabin where there's a kitchenette, with a fridge, gas hob, cookware, tableware and utensils. There's also a compost loo and a shower per cabin.

Activities

Greener Glamping is deep in Cynwyd Forest, in the Berwyn Mountains and above the Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in North Wales. Snowdonia National Park is just 20 minutes away. Between the two, there's all the outdoor activity you could wish for: walking, cycling, climbing, white-water rafting, archery, gorge walking, zip lines, underground trampolines... the list goes on. The site sits on the North Berwyn Way walking route and Pistyll Rhaeadr, Wales' highest waterfall and a place of great significance in Celtic legend, is just over 10 miles south.

Food & Drink

It's a mile down the hill to the closest pub, The Blue Lion (01490 413656) in Cynwyd. The village also has a little shop which sells any basics you might need. For more than that, try Rhug Organic Farm shop, four miles away, which also has a café.

Getting There

From Corwen, take the A5 and then the B4401 towards Cynwyd. Once you reach the village, look out for the Blue Lion pub. Turn left immediately after passing it (opposite the closed Prince of Wales pub) drive through the square and continue up the road out of the village. After 200m you'll see a sign on the right for Felin Uchaf Campsite. Keep bearing left and come up the hill for 1,000m. Keep your eyes open for the Cynwyd Forest sign on your right and keep coming up the hill. After 500m you'll see a wooden shed, a wind turbine, yurt and log cabin and a sign for Ty Mam Mawr.

The nearest train station is Ruabon. There are buses from there to Cynwyd. Then a 1 mile walk up to the property. Please see directions provided.
